M. Zubair Hossain is an accomplished economist, educator, and consultant with over two decades of experience in academia, international development, and business advisory services. He served as a lecturer at North South University for eight years, where he taught finance, statistics, and management while authoring the book Green Banking in Bangladesh and Beyond and publishing extensively on finance, economics, game theory, and econometrics. He also managed a World Bank-funded green banking research initiative and has contributed to global academic discourse through conferences, journals, and international collaborations. Mr. Hossain’s academic foundation includes a B.A. and M.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland, along with specialized training from HEC Paris.

Since transitioning from academia, Mr. Hossain has worked as a full-time consultant with ISI and O&G, providing strategic and financial advisory services to a diverse portfolio of small and medium-sized enterprises. His consulting work has encompassed business valuations, M&A due diligence, capital structure advisement, market research, and growth planning across sectors and geographies. He has advised both private corporations and development organizations and has led numerous feasibility studies, industry analyses, and financial modeling projects. A passionate environmental advocate, he is also the founder and president of Green Steps Partner, a nonprofit organization focused on youth engagement and environmental activism. Through his firm, SYZ International, Mr. Hossain continues to support entrepreneurs, corporations, and policymakers with data-driven insights and sustainable growth strategies.
